Norberto Pedreira - Osvaldo Belmonte

What a beautiful experience to compose together! Our journey began in Buenos Aires in the 1980s when we formed the duo Pedreira-Belmonte, and José Balé joined us on percussion. 

In those times, we discovered our ability to create our own language and started composing our music. Our albums, "Seguimos dialogando" and "Encuentro," contain some of our first compositions. 

The process continued between Paris and Buenos Aires, and we presented "Zamba del reencuentro" at a poetry festival in our beloved neighborhood, Parque Chas, in April 2021. 

We went on to create the "Argentine Suite for piano and guitar," which draws from various Argentinian rhythms, including zamba, chacarera, rasguido doble, milonga, tango, huella, and chamamé. Each rhythm has its own unique characteristics, which we modified to allow for improvisation. 

With the support of the French publisher L’empreinte mélodique, we wrote this repertoire to share our musical experience. As one of our songs says, "We are leaving traces" ("Vamos dejando huella").
